Samco Sport Heads to Castle Combe for LZ World Tour 2026

Samco Sport LZ World Tour 2026 (For Web)
Samco Sport LZ World Tour 2026 (For Web)

Samco Sport is heading back to the drift scene this weekend as the LZ World Tour returns to Castle Combe Circuit for two days of high-speed, sideways action.

Taking place on Friday 4 and Saturday 5 September, the Castle Combe round brings together some of the biggest names in international drifting for what promises to be one of the standout events on the UK automotive calendar. And Samco Sport will be there to experience it all.

Joining us at Castle Combe will be two of our sponsored drivers and long-standing members of #TeamSamco – Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni and Ian ‘Bizz’ Phillips.

Both drivers are familiar faces within the Samco Sport family, and we’re looking forward to seeing them go head-to-head with an impressive 29-driver field featuring some of the biggest names in the sport.

The 2026 LZ World Tour at Castle Combe follows a unique competition format designed to keep the action coming throughout the weekend.

Friday will see all 29 competition drivers take to the circuit for qualifying. The top 13 drivers will automatically progress to Saturday’s Main Show, while those qualifying from 14th to 29th will have one final opportunity to make the cut through the Last Chance Top 16 competition, with just three places available for Saturday.

Saturday will then see the successful drivers battle through the Main Show Top 16, with head-to-head knockout battles ultimately deciding who takes the podium.

Alongside the competition itself, fans can expect drift demonstrations, fantasy battles, feature cars and a major Griot’s Garage Car Show featuring builds from across the UK and beyond.

For Samco Sport, one of the weekend’s biggest attractions will be seeing Steve ‘Baggsy’ Biagioni back in action.

Baggsy is one of the UK’s best-known professional drifters and has been part of the Samco Sport family for many years. His SB Motorsport builds have become synonymous with high horsepower, engineering innovation and spectacular drifting, making the LZ World Tour a perfect platform for him to showcase his talent.

The Castle Combe round also comes shortly after the unveiling of Baggsy’s latest project – his 1,000+HP Toyota GR Corolla drift car, which made its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed earlier this year.

Also representing #TeamSamco will be Ian ‘Bizz’ Phillips, another driver who has become a familiar face within the Samco Sport motorsport programme. Bizz brings plenty of experience and his own unique style to the LZ World Tour grid, and we’re looking forward to following his progress throughout the weekend.

With both Baggsy and Bizz competing, we’ll be keeping a close eye on the action and capturing plenty of content from behind the scenes.

Bring on the LZ World Tour this weekend!

Baggsy Unveils 1,000HP Toyota GR Corolla Ahead of Goodwood Festival of Speed

Baggsy Corolla Launch for website
Baggsy Corolla Launch for website

Samco Sport is excited to celebrate the unveiling of Steve “Baggsy” Biagioni’s incredible new Toyota GR Corolla, a project that is set to make its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, this weekend.

Baggsy has been part of the Samco Sport family since 2016, and over the years we’ve had the privilege of supporting countless standout projects, from drift cars and demo builds to major international events. His creativity and commitment to pushing boundaries have consistently made him one of the most exciting figures in the scene.

His latest creation may have started life as a GR Corolla, but it has evolved into something far more extreme. Built by SB Motorsport, the car has been transformed into a full competition-spec drift machine powered by a legendary Toyota 2JZ package producing more than 1,000 horsepower.

“Pulling the covers off this GR Corolla drift car is a moment I’ve been waiting a long time for,” said Baggsy.

“What you see today is the result of countless late nights, relentless problem-solving, and our team’s obsession with getting every last detail exactly right.

“The GR Corolla gave us an outstanding platform to start with, and the addition of the legendary 2JZ engine package has transformed it into a fire-breathing machine that’s ready to make some serious noise at Goodwood.”

The project brings together a huge number of respected names from across the performance and motorsport industry, resulting in a car designed specifically to perform on one of the world’s most famous hillclimbs.

While the full technical specification is extensive, the headline figures speak for themselves: over 1,100bhp, a Quaife sequential gearbox, custom chassis development, aggressive Rocket Bunny Pandem bodywork, and a setup engineered for maximum sideways commitment.

As long-term supporters of Baggsy, everyone at Samco Sport is looking forward to seeing the GR Corolla in action at Goodwood and continuing our partnership on what promises to be another landmark project.

The 1,000HP Toyota GR Corolla will make its public debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where Baggsy will put the car through its paces in front of thousands of motorsport and performance car fans.

Stay tuned to Samco Sport and #TeamSamco for exclusive behind-the-scenes content, event coverage and updates from Goodwood throughout the weekend.

Samco Sport Announces Technical Partnership with Welsh Sand Racing Star Sion Talbot

Samco Sport x Sion Talbout Announcement 16x9 for website
Samco Sport x Sion Talbout Announcement 16x9 for website

Samco Sport is proud to announce a new technical partnership with Welsh sand racing specialist Sion Talbot as he prepares for another season competing at some of the toughest off-road events in Europe and beyond.

Hailing from South Wales, Sion has built a reputation as one of Britain’s most dedicated sand racers, competing in prestigious events including the FIM Sand Races World Cup and the legendary Weston Beach Race. Riding a KTM 450, Sion combines full-time work as a groundworker with the demands of competing at an elite level in one of motorsport’s most physically demanding disciplines.

For Sion, motorcycles have been at the centre of his life for as long as he can remember.

“My full-time job is bikes,” he laughs. “If I’m not doing something to fund the bikes, I’m looking at ways to improve them mechanically. It’s always been bikes.”

Like many racers, Sion’s journey began with a simple request to his parents.

At just five years old, after watching a cousin riding a motorcycle, he immediately wanted one of his own. His parents initially opted for a quad bike instead, believing four wheels would be safer than two. That first machine was an LT50 quad, ridden around land owned by his family in South Wales.

However, it wasn’t long before the lure of motocross became impossible to ignore.

On his eighth birthday, Sion’s father surprised him with a Kawasaki KX60 hidden in the garden.

“I remember being more interested in opening my presents than going outside,” recalls Sion. “My dad kept telling me to look in the garden. When I opened the curtains, there it was. From that moment on, all I wanted to do was ride.”

The transition into racing soon followed, beginning at local motocross events across South Wales. Like many young riders, his first race wasn’t entirely successful.

“My first race was at Taffs Well and the weather was awful. There was this massive hill that terrified me. I got to the bottom, looked up and refused to ride up it. By the second race I managed it once, and after that I gradually built confidence.”

That determination would become a recurring theme throughout his career.

After progressing through the motocross ranks and competing at British Championship level, Sion eventually discovered that his true passion lay elsewhere.

While motocross remained his foundation, sand racing offered something different.

“I always enjoyed racing on sand. If there was a sandy track available, that’s where I wanted to ride.”

Regular appearances at the Weston Beach Race helped fuel that passion further, eventually leading him towards the French Sand Championship and the international sand racing scene.

A chance conversation with close friend ultimately changed the direction of his career.

“We started looking into the French beach races and honestly didn’t know where to begin. It took us months just to figure out how to enter. But once we got there, it completely changed everything.”

“It felt like a proper community. Everyone was together, helping each other. The atmosphere was incredible and I probably had more fun in those first few races than I’d had in years. That’s when I caught the bug. From that point on, I knew this was what I wanted to do.”

Today, Sion’s focus is firmly on the international sand racing scene.

After gaining valuable experience in both the French Championship and the FIM Sand Races World Cup, his ambitions continue to grow.

Last season saw him secure an impressive eighth place overall in the French Championship standings, while also finishing inside the top 40 of the World Championship against some of the world’s leading sand racers.

For 2026, the goal is clear.

“As riders, we all want to win. That’s the dream. But realistically, it’s about continuing to move forward, becoming more consistent and pushing towards the front.”

One of Sion’s key objectives is earning a coveted yellow bib, awarded to riders ranked amongst the championship’s elite competitors.

“Every year is a learning year. You learn the tracks, the races and how to manage everything better. Knowledge is power in this sport.”

As part of the new partnership, Sion’s KTM will now benefit from Samco Sport’s race-proven silicone hose technology, helping deliver the reliability and performance needed for the extreme demands of international sand racing.

For Sion, the partnership offers much more than product support.

“This partnership has opened so many doors for me. The confidence it gives me in the bike is massive.”

“Reliability is everything in this sport. Knowing I’ve got a product that’s designed to perform in extreme conditions gives me confidence every time I line up.”

“The quality of the Samco Sport products is incredible, and because everything can be tailored to what I need, it gives me opportunities to develop the bike in ways I couldn’t before.”

While the sand racing season doesn’t begin in earnest until later in the year, preparations are already underway.

Following a well-earned break after a busy campaign, Sion is gradually building back towards full race fitness before entering what he calls “athlete mode” later in the summer.

“The motivation is probably higher than it’s ever been because I’ve had a chance to switch off and enjoy life outside racing for a little while. Now I’m excited to get back on the bike.”

Everyone at Samco Sport is delighted to welcome Sion to #TeamSamco and looks forward to supporting his journey throughout the 2026 season as he continues to represent Wales on the international stage.

Samco Sport recently went behind the scenes with FS-3 Racing during Round Two of the 2026 British Superbike Championship at Donington Park, where Max Cook enjoyed a brilliant weekend with three podium finishes for the AJN Steelstock bimota team.

As Technical Partners of the team, it was great for us to spend time inside the paddock and see first-hand what goes into competing at this level. From the preparation in the garage to the intensity of race day, it really highlights just how much work and attention to detail is involved across a race weekend.

It was also another really positive weekend for the FS-3 Racing project, with the new bimota package continuing to show strong pace early in the season. Max took second place in Race One before backing it up with two more podiums on Sunday — a mega result for everyone involved.

Weekends like this are a reminder of why motorsport partnerships matter so much to us. Seeing Samco Sport products being used in such demanding conditions at the highest level of British racing is something we’re incredibly proud of.

Away from the track action, we also had the opportunity to capture some behind-the-scenes content with the team and get a closer look at the atmosphere that makes the British Superbike paddock so special.

The 2026 season is shaping up to be an exciting one already, and we’re looking forward to continuing the journey with FS-3 Racing and Max Cook across the rest of the championship.

Samco Sport Partners with SB Motorsport on 1,000HP Toyota GR Corolla Drift Build

Samco Sport is excited to be part of an ambitious new project with SB Motorsport and long-term partner Steve Baggsy Biagioni — a 1,000HP, competition-spec Toyota GR Corolla drift car.

A one-off build, this project will see one of the first GR Corolla models imported into the UK transformed into a full competition machine. At the heart of the build sits a 1,000HP 2JZ engine, developed by DY Engine Services, paired with a 6-speed sequential gearbox from Quaife. The package is completed with high-end components throughout, including ST Suspension XTA plus 3 coilovers, custom forged wheels from STRÖM, and a striking wide-body kit.

SB Motorsport has built a reputation for pushing boundaries, with previous headline-grabbing builds including the Nissan Navara-R and a 7.4-litre turbocharged LSX V8-powered R35 GT-R. This latest GR Corolla project looks set to continue that trend — combining extreme performance with standout design.

For Samco Sport, this project represents another exciting chapter in a long-standing partnership. We have proudly supported Baggsy since 2016, working together across multiple builds and events. Being involved in a project of this scale is something we’re genuinely excited about, as it showcases the level of engineering, performance and creativity that defines modern motorsport.

Samco Sport silicone hose technology will play a key role in the build, ensuring reliability and performance under the extreme demands of competitive drifting — where heat, pressure and precision all come into play.

Steve “Baggsy” Biagioni said:
“I’m beyond excited with this project, the Corolla is steeped in Toyota’s history and with the help of our partners, we’re able to take on the latest model and take it to the next level. Our team here at SB Motorsport are going full throttle with this build and I can’t wait to show you the finished article.”

The car is expected to make its first public appearance at the world-renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed, where fans will get to see the GR Corolla in action for the very first time.

We’ll be following the build closely as it develops, with updates covering everything from engine development and suspension setup to final livery and on-track performance.

Stay tuned to Samco Sport channels for exclusive behind-the-scenes content as this incredible project comes to life.

Prepare Your Motorcycle for Spring and Summer

Samco Sport Prepare Your Motorcycle For Spring And Summer Graphic 2026
Samco Sport Prepare Your Motorcycle For Spring And Summer Graphic 2026

The days are getting longer, the temperatures are rising, and that familiar urge to get out on the bike is back. Before you hit the road this season, it’s worth taking the time to properly prepare your motorcycle for the demands of spring and summer riding.

A quick clean is a good start, but warmer conditions bring added stress on key components. A little maintenance now can make all the difference when it comes to performance, reliability and safety.

Essential Summer Checks

Fresh Oil, Smooth Performance
As temperatures increase, your engine works harder. Keeping your oil fresh is essential for maintaining performance and protecting internal components. Always use the grade recommended by your manufacturer for optimal results.

Tyres: Your Only Contact with the Road
Tyre condition and pressure are critical, especially in warmer weather where pressures can rise quickly. Check them regularly and ensure they’re set correctly before every ride.

Chain Care Matters
A well-maintained chain ensures smooth power delivery and reduces wear. Clean and lubricate it regularly to keep everything running as it should throughout the season.

Brakes: Don’t Take Chances
Your braking system needs to be in top condition at all times. Check pad wear and feel for any changes in performance. If something doesn’t feel right, get it checked immediately.

Cooling System Check
Hot weather puts extra demand on your cooling system. Old coolant can lose its effectiveness, so consider a flush and refill to help prevent overheating during longer rides.

Upgrade Your Ride with Samco Sport

Once the essentials are covered, it’s worth thinking about
upgrades that can improve both performance and reliability.

Standard rubber hoses can struggle under sustained heat,
becoming brittle over time and increasing the risk of leaks or failure. Samco
Sport silicone hoses are designed to perform in these conditions, offering a
clear upgrade for riders who demand more from their machine.

Built for Heat and Performance
Manufactured from high-grade silicone, Samco Sport hoses are designed to handle
extreme temperatures, improving coolant flow and helping your engine stay cool
when it matters most.

Durability You Can Rely On
Unlike traditional rubber, silicone offers long-lasting resistance to heat and
pressure, reducing the risk of failure and giving you added confidence on every
ride.

Stand Out Visually
Available in a wide range of colours, Samco Sport hoses also give you the
chance to personalise your bike and make your engine bay stand out.

Upgrading isn’t just about performance — it’s about peace of
mind. Knowing your bike is built to handle the demands of summer riding lets
you focus on what really matters: enjoying the ride.

Ready for the Road

With your bike prepped and ready, it’s time to make the most of the season ahead. Whether it’s a short weekend ride or a long-distance trip, preparation is key to getting the best out of every journey.

Ride safe, stay prepared, and enjoy the road ahead.

If you’re interested in purchasing a Samco Sport hose for your motorcycle, visit the RaceBikeBitz website and find your make and model.
