Alex Lowes Secures Podium in Superpole Sprint

The highlight of the weekend was undoubtedly Alex Lowes’ podium finish in the ten-lap Superpole race. Starting strong and maintaining his pace, Lowes demonstrated the capabilities of his Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, which is equipped with our top-quality Samco Sport hoses. These hoses are essential for managing engine temperatures, especially in the warm and dry conditions at Misano.

Achieving his fourth podium of the season, Lowes has proven his consistency and skill, complemented by the reliability of our products. His ability to stay in potential podium positions from the start showcases not only his talent but also the superior performance of the machinery supported by Samco Sport.

Axel Bassani’s Best Performance of the Season

Axel Bassani delivered a standout performance at Misano, finishing sixth in the Superpole race and securing a season-best seventh in Race Two. Starting from 11th, Bassani’s progress through the pack highlighted his growing proficiency. Bassani’s strong showing was further validated by his ability to maintain pace and consistency in the hot track conditions, a challenge that our Samco Sport hoses helped to overcome. His continuous improvement is a reflection of both his hard work and the advanced technical solutions we provide.

Significant Points and Championship Standings

Thanks to the efforts of Lowes and Bassani, KRT secured vital points at Misano. Alex Lowes now stands fourth in the overall championship with 124 points, while Axel Bassani has moved up to 11th with 40 points. These achievements contribute to Kawasaki’s strong third-place standing in both the Manufacturers’ and Team Championships.

Anticipating Donington Park

Looking ahead, we are excited for the upcoming round at Donington Park in the UK, a home race for Alex Lowes. With the continued support from Samco Sport, the Kawasaki Racing Team is well-prepared to face new challenges. Lowes’ familiarity with Donington Park, combined with our ongoing technical enhancements, promises more thrilling performances.

Words from the Riders

Reflecting on his performance, Alex Lowes said, “The shorter Superpole race allows me to attack a bit more at the front. In the longer races, I have to bring it back a bit compared to the other guys. But I am really enjoying it, so to be on the podium and not too far from the top two guys is mega for us. Massive respect for the team and Kawasaki, as they have been working really hard. Hot conditions have been a problem for us in the last couple of years, but this weekend it looked like it was really working well on the track, even when it was slippery and greasy.”

Axel Bassani shared his insights, saying, “Every practice and race session we are trying to improve the bike. Today was better, even though I was lucky in the Superpole race as there were a lot of crashes in front of me, so I was able to recover a lot of positions. During the second race, I tried to manage it and understand how to be consistent until the end. On the last lap, I tried to overtake Danilo, but this weekend he did an incredible job. So to finish on Sunday with P6 and P7 is a really good position to be in.”

At Samco Sport, we are thrilled to witness the success of all #TeamSamco riders, drivers and racing teams. The Misano round underscored the importance of technical excellence in achieving top results. As the season progresses, we remain committed to powering KRT to even greater heights. Stay tuned to #TeamSamco for more updates as we head to Donington Park!
