Essential Summer Checks

Fresh Oil, Smooth Performance
As temperatures increase, your engine works harder. Keeping your oil fresh is essential for maintaining performance and protecting internal components. Always use the grade recommended by your manufacturer for optimal results.

Tyres: Your Only Contact with the Road
Tyre condition and pressure are critical, especially in warmer weather where pressures can rise quickly. Check them regularly and ensure they’re set correctly before every ride.

Chain Care Matters
A well-maintained chain ensures smooth power delivery and reduces wear. Clean and lubricate it regularly to keep everything running as it should throughout the season.

Brakes: Don’t Take Chances
Your braking system needs to be in top condition at all times. Check pad wear and feel for any changes in performance. If something doesn’t feel right, get it checked immediately.

Cooling System Check
Hot weather puts extra demand on your cooling system. Old coolant can lose its effectiveness, so consider a flush and refill to help prevent overheating during longer rides.

High-performance silicone hose specialist, Samco Sport, will continue its close relationship with Castle Combe Circuit into 2026 by becoming the title sponsor of the venue’s Performance Action Day event (26 September).

The news comes following the South Wales-based firm’s successful sponsorship of Castle Combe’s Autumn Action Day in 2025, as well as supporting its Hot Hatch Championship race series throughout 2024.

The recently rebranded performance car show will play host to a large Samco Sport trade stand in the heart of the event, housing various striking road, race and drift cars that are affiliated with the company.

Part of Castle Combe’s ‘Action Day’ series of events, Performance Action Day is a new addition to the 2026 calendar that focuses on high-performance and modified cars. As with all Action Days, expect non-stop public track action, drifting demonstrations, thousands of stunning display vehicles and a large trade village, amongst countless other attractions.
